Vince and all other responses,

Thanks for the pipecleaner idea.....I like it! It appeals to the child-like
qualities in me (always loved playing with those things) and I think it
would work. Other suggestions have been to make a plug to put in the hole,
with wax/alumina, or wad clay (easy to break up later), or MAKE BIGGER HOLES!.
Other responses were recommending types of drills:
>You can do it with a Dremel (tm) Mototool or other such fitted with a
>carbide tip.
>Pat i know you can get dimaond drill bit that you uses with water to keep it
>cool. They're used in polishing rock and gems to drils hole for beads.
>If you go buy one be sure to get the carbide tips
>and do not go for the Mighty Mite, buy the 115 AC model it is much
>better than the battery one and runs much smoother.
Thanks everyone....I think my neighbor has one of these drills, I
just have to go get a 1/8" bit for it. I will clean out my favorite pieces,
and try the other suggestions in the future, so hopefully I won't be
drilling again!
****Pat, on cold, damp, slushy Vashon Island where I got
suckered into doing a local "Christian Craft Fair" this weekend. You'd
think after 20 plus years I'd know better!
