As an archaeologist I deal a lot with broken pots. If the pot is valuable
you should definately use something reversable. Elmers is alright but
check it out on something else first to make sure it will come off.
Sometimes there is a problem with it. I do recommend staying away from
Duco or anyother celluose based glues. These tend to get brittle and
yellow in a few years. If you have a local museum ask them or their
conservator what they use, they may be able to tell you where to get it.
