...I would really like a green matt glaze that will work at cone
cone 10 on brown clay. I have tested with chrome oxide and do not get
good results...
I get a nice green matte from my waste glaze bucket! Just save all the
glaze rinsings and waste stuff and test it every once in awhile. When
it gets just right, label it "Mystery green" and start a new waste
bucket ;->

It SOUNDS cute, Janet (and I laughed a lot when I read it), but for any
unsuspecting newbie kind of potters out there, don't try it. I have,
just out of curiosity, and I've gotten anything from exploding glaze
(disgusting) to glaze ala barf (yet MORE disgusting), and EXPANDING glaze
(cracking the pot it's on). Scary stuff. Be careful. :)
By the way, I am currently working on a nice green glaze (^10), gloss,
but I already have a decent green matte glaze (^10), it may not be what
you want, because it tends to range from very very dark green with spots,
to light PINK. Kind of nice. I'll dig up the recipe for you.
