hakeme vs. mishima

=3Cclip....... I think Mishima is a form of decoration achieved by using a
very coarse
brush on white slip which has been applied to a coloured body. The brush
marks allow the coloured body to show through the white slip.

The casually applied coarse brush with white slip over a darker body is
called hakeme.

Mishima is the inlaying of a contrasting (lighter or darker or both) slip
into a pattern that has been impressed, stamped, or carved into the clay,
and then scraping the surface back flush leaving the colored slip in the
pattern.
