Hello, fellow clayarters. I hope someone in the group can help me find
something I have been looking for all summer with no luck. I saw an ad
in the Axner catalog for a small hand held extruded called an Oozie with
a listing of extra dies. When I called, they said they no longer handled
that product. I got a tele number for a Cajun Clay in Gretna, La., but
they never answer the tele. Then I spotted an ad for a Super Duper
Clay Gun that sounded like the same type of extruded at Scott Creek
Pottery. I was unable to contact them. Either my time and their time
on the tele just don't meet. I thought perhaps someone could give me
information about this extruded that seems to sound so good but be so
elusive to me. Has anyone ever used one? Where else might I look?

Sue,
I have an extruder from Scott Creek and IMO the original idea was good but
the tool of poor quality, difficult to clean and far too expensive for
something that is not much more than a caulking gun with a few washers.
This was purchased two years ago.

Do you mean the small cylindrical piece, about 4" or 5" long with a
plunger, comes with about 10 little die, the die being about 1/2" to
3/4" in diameter as is the cylinder? If so I have one and I believe the
place I bought it has quite a few. I think they are less than $10.

Hi Sue,
I have one of those Super Clay Guns. It works fine for handles, coils,
straps, squares and other small extrusions. It looks like a caulking gun
with a metal tube where the caulking tube goes. They also include some blank
dies for your own needs. They are on Seattle time. Also, I believe they
work from their home - so they may be on vacation.
Good luck!

It may be my inexperience with the extruder, but I don't love it altogether beca
the difficulty cleaning the machine, though it does work. Don't know why they
discontinued it, cuz it does all a machine of this cost should. This may not be a
help but it is all i know.
