I am posting this for a friend who has been using Standard's 105..low
fired white ware clay,,She makes clock faces, slab rolled, slab on
slab...Recently her clocks have been cracking and she's eliminated all
the variables...Has anyone else had problems ? Its for Carol Leong but
send responses to me...Elca Branman

I do not use 105 because I noticed it had a tendency to crack in drying. I
have a friend in Rhode Island who stopped using it for the same reason.

When I have a large flat piece that I'm about to set out to dry I
sprinkle sand on the drying boards surface. The sand acts something like
a ball bearing and keeps the piece from sticking to the board.
