Liz & Bonnie:
It looks to me like it's the TIN that makes the glaze red. We used to
have a "white" glaze that had tin in it, and any time an underglaze
containing chrome was fired in the same kilnload with any of that "white"
glaze, the white turned pink. I've even used that glaze OVER some green
underglaze, and the piece turned out with dark pink spatters all around
the green
