I have the opportunity to purchase bottles of Hanovia Gold from a stained
glass supplier. But they're called Hanovia Glass Metallics and Glass
Lustres. The metallics chart says to fire to cone 022 or sagging to cone
015-016. The description is that they appear oily brown in solution but fire
to brilliant metallic tones. It sounds like the same stuff I used years ago
for a ceramic piece I made when I first started. I do know that whatever is
going to be gold fired must have a very glossy surface for the gold to shine.
A "glassy" surface.
My question is this: Is this the same product being used for different
purposes or is there really a difference in the Hanovia Gold that's fired
onto clay as opposed to the Hanovia Gold fired onto glass. (The same
question goes for the lustres as well.)
