Hello all,
I have "spoken" to Tom Buck who suggested I post this, and so
hopefully clear up the mystery.
Here in South Africa I can't get Gerstley Borate.
The obvious substitute available,Colemanite, behaves very badly
in Raku.Just up and walks right off the pot.
A local 'ferro man' has suggested two frits that might work as
substitutes.
FSB869-----A one to one substitute for Colemanite, but no good to me
as it is not milled.
FSB757----Anyone know this one?
A lot of frits mentioned in List recipes, get me blank looks when I
ask for them,so I assume they too are ubavailable in 'Darkest Africa'
TIA,
Toni M.
