how wet do you throw

Denise,

The more instructors you hear from, the more different opinions you'll get
on just how wet you should throw. If you throw wet, you must throw quickly.
Throwing dry gives you a little more time to fool around, but does put more
torque on the clay, and thus more pressure on that joint between the clay
and the bat. Dampen the bat and then allow the dampness to sink in until
the surface no longer shines. Throw the clay down with a mighty whallop! If
this doesn't work, it is my personal opinion that you should either change
bat systems or use a bit more water to lubricate the clay as you throw.
BTW, as long as it works well for you, it's legal to do in clay.
