I'm a sophmore in high school, I do a lot of ceramic sculpture. I wanna
get a little recognition so I can go to college but I don't know how to

if you love science you go to science fairs
if you love english you write for essay contests
if you love sports you win tournaments

what about art

Take out a subscription to Ceramics Monthly. If you live on the west coast,
subscribe to Artweek as well. Are there any other regional art magazines?

Hey JoeCool143
I assume that you are taking a ceramics class or art class in high
school. Correct? Have you asked your art teacher(s) about art shows in
your school district? You might also try the county fairs. See if you can
get your hands on the magazine called Ceramics Monthly in the back part of
the magazine there are a list of shows all over the world. You might want
to watch for local shows in your area. Hint Hint Get good quailty slides
and good photos of your work because many shows require slides and entry
fees. Check with your local junior colleges for summer ceramic classes and
try to get enrolled. Many junior colleges have students shows. Lastly do
not give up.
If I think of any other suggestions I'll let you know.
Good Luck
Michelle

You go to Ceramics Monthly, and you look at competitions, regional. Take
a pick, do the work, make the slides, send them in , with the money, and
good luck. That is one way. American Craft is another that lists
competitions.
