Has anyone ever heard of Ickybana pottery? Someone asked me to make
some, and I never heard of it. That's probably not spelled right, but
that's what it sounds like.....
......=3Cclip=3E......

Ikibana is the art of flower arranging practised in Japan. Although ANY
pots can be used..... adherents to the more traditional forms (very
formalized practices) look for specific characteristics in the pots (as
they do in tea wares). A good book on Ikibana will show you the basic
concepts and typical pot forms. There are all sorts of =22styles=22 of =
pieces
for different types of arrangements.

Basically, remember that the pot needs to work WITH the organic plant
materials.... not be so strong and individualized that it overpowers them.

Creative arrangers often look for pots that DON'T follow the usual
standards.... so keep an open mind. Ask the person who requested the
pieces exactly what they had in mind.

Best,
