Thanks for all the great info on crystallization and firing rates. I'm
getting a much clearer picture of what's happening in the glaze structure
now. As for how Iron reds are selling these days....!
I went to my first few shows last month all excited about my new iron red
oxidation pots and some fancy handled bowls I've been working on. The
handles went over well, but as the red work was all but ignored. Maybe
I'll get a better response in the fall, when people are thinking in
autumn colors, but so far I'm quite dissappointed. I had iron red and
cream pots with gold highlights, and also iron red with a soft blue green
glaze. "Very nice" people would say and then they headed for the blue.
*sigh*
