Alice at ITC was not helpful??? The ITC information was
incomplete??? This befuddles me. We have now received our order for
refractory material and couldn't have been treated better. One of us
has a technical background so we had many questions; all were answered
fully and intelligently. One of us is limited technically, but I
received responses, also, that were complete and understandable to me.
I even finally "got" the part about radiant energy as opposed
to reflective heat. Obviously, this involved several phone calls.
Because our order was so small we were more concerned with what harm
might befall our treasured kilns than with the actual dollars expended.
All concerns were answered politely, thoroughly and as if we were the
only customers clamoring for information. (This was late on a Sunday
evening. Alice was still working and cheerful.)
It occurs to me that I've had a few friends whom I adored for their wit,
intelligence and compassion toward ME...but who were embarrassingly rude
and tyrannical towards so-called "service people". Could that be the
case here? Is this something like those who behave differently from
their perceived "normal" selves when behind the wheel of a car? I
understand that reasons for such behavior may be buried in our poor
bemused psyches, but Alice doesn't deserve to be its brunt.
