......., and I'd love to get ahold of a very small one. Any
ideas?. Vince......
Hi, Vince.
How small is "small". The small hand-held "blenders"
are a treasure for mixing glaze tests, and cheap. Further, and
you might enjoy this: You can take a small metal rod that will
fit your drill, drill or have the machine shop drill a hole near
the end of the rod that goes into the container, and attach three
or four pieces of chain link (appropriately sized for rod). This
makes the best and most efficient mixer I have ever used, much
quicker and better than the "jiffy" type. When I get done mixing
with one of these, the glaze just slips through the screen without
a pause...
The one I use here is on a long metal rod, 3/8". Flattened
slightly where pierced for attaching chain. One loop through
the rod, two free for mixing. Works a charm, and no sharp edges
to chip off plastic. Chain can be replaced, but have not had to
so far in four years of using steadily (pretty heavy links on this
one).
Don't see any reason why it couldn't be made to any desireable
length/chain size.
