Is Kaowool a good unprotected insulation in a small wood-fired
kiln or will ash deposits degrade the surface of the mineral
fibers ?
Also: Can Kaowool be "glued" to a brick wall ?

If you are going to line your wood kiln with fiber I would suggest coating
it with ITC 100. The ash build up would rip the fiber layers off if
unprotected. You could insulate the kiln with fiber using a technique
called " laminating".
The walls of the kiln are coated with ITC 100, the fiber is cut in 12 inch
squares and compressed. The fiber is then dunked in ITC 100 pressed onto
the wall and then the kiln is sprayed with ITC l00. Phone Alice Delkic of
ITC for a full description of this process. They also sell the compressed
fiber squares and of course the ITC. I think your wood kiln will fire like
jack the bear and you will have fantastic energy savings- both wood and
personal.
