THIS DIDN'T SEEM TO MAKE IT ONTO THE LIST FIRST TIME, SO AM SENDING IT AGAIN:

Thanks for that insight about positioning kiln posts over the frame. That
part hadn't occurred to me.

About kiln floors: A second hand kiln I bought recently is in good shape
except that the kiln floor has some cracking and is uneven. Would sheet
metal (the kind used in furnace ducting) cut the same shape as the floor and
placed under it be an option to help support it on the stand? How important
is firing temperature if the metal is used? This would be only for bisquing
- most likely.

Also, I have kept a file of interesting sounding clayart recipes and one -
sometime ago from FMiranda is Floating Red. I wondered if I had it right (a
line could have got edited out), because there doesn't seem to be any
alumina in it. What I have is as follows:

Gerstley borate 54.88
talc 14.63
flint 30.49
RIO 21.95

If this recipe is correct, how does the glaze behave?
