I'm not sure what exactly the furniture is for- is it to hold the shelves
or to support parts of the sculpture? If it's for the latter, i would
suggest making supports out of the same clay body used to make the
sculpture. That way the supports will expand/shrink with the sculpture. If
you use something else, (i.e. firebricks) you risk putting stress fractures
in the work-- i know from personal experience!
