Sorry, this has taken so long. I want to give a big thank you to all those
that offered suggestions regarding our Paragon and the short life of its
elements. It is running again to ^6 with the elements that were in there
but suspect it should be wired directly because the plug is still getting
too warm as far as I am concerned. The main problem was with the way the
receptacle ground was wired . The temp never rose any higher even though
it sounded like it did when I went from Med to Hi. No wonder it took so
long to fire a load and my elements didn't last. A special Thanks to Jacki
at Paragon. That is one lady that knows her stuff! And thanks again to
all you wonderful people that jumped in and tried to help. I sure learned
a lot.

For what it=92s worth column: That hot plug may be it=92s own enemy. I had
just come home from the local hardware with a new range plug, mine, plus the
wire in both directions was way too hot and needed replacing. As I waited
for present load to finish firing I was doing a visual check of the plug and
receptacle with the covers off. I did just that, got another lesson in
humility and electricity. I spotted a tiny arc at a plug in point. The
culprit was a not tight enough onnection where the male kiln prongs enter
the female receptacle. Everything is working fine now. MAKE SURE YOUR
BREAKER OR FUSE IS PULLED and use pliers to give it a little squeeze.
Humble. I had replaced that same plug at least 3 times and now I know the
reason. Dah=85.
