I would like information on kiln shelves for use in a woodburning kiln.
I'm constructing the catenary arch kiln described in Jack Troy's
Woodfired Stoneware and Porcelain book. I believe it was designed by
Peg Udall and Ruggles/Rankin. The chamber is completed. The chimney
is the only part left to build.
I use 12"x 24"x 1" Thorley shelves for our gas kiln that is fired to cone
10. Are these shelves recommended for wood or should I purchase
others? Please advise. Thanks in advance.
