For an article for Clay Times on advantages and disadvantages of different types
of kiln shelves, I'd like your opinion on what works best for you and why.
Please be as specific as possible regarding composition (alumina, silcon
carbide, etc.) thickness, weight, stacking qualities, posts, etc. Please state
if you would prefer to be quoted for the article, or not. I will respect your

It is time for me to purchase new 18x18 shelving. I need
something lightweight, such as silicon carbide, as I am
experiencing pain as I lift the shelves into my 40' kiln. Is
there a supplier that you recommend?
