kiln-gard - how to use?

Thanks to Jean Lehman for identifying my Dyna Kiln and it's manufacturer.
I called them and the owner is sending a manual for the kiln, however he
says he has no idea how the Kiln-Gard works and that they never sold
anything but Dawson Kiln Sitters so it must be an add-on later. This
kiln doesn't have a Dawson sitter. He says Kiln-Gard is no longer
manufactured.

Anyone out there know how the Kiln Gard gets used? Does it hold a cone
in the prongs? Is it inserted in the peep hold during firing? Do you
know anyone who might know how this ancient bit of technology gets used?

Hi Cheryl:

Saw your note regarding the Kiln Guard and I think I can help you. First of
all it is indeed inserted in a peep hole and you have to set a cone on the
two prongs just like you do on any other cone sitter equipment. It probably
is the easiest of all the sitters to use. If you have any questions I can
help you out I.m sure.

Good luck.
