I'm new to this list and also new to the world of ceramics, so if I make a
blunder here, please correct me. I have gotten hold of some white
bisqueware from someone quitting business selling to "paint your own
pottery" places. I'm interested in experimenting with Majolica, for one. I
prefer the more muted look of the tin glaze over a red clay body. What I'm
wondering is, can I immerse the white bisque in a red slip to mimic the
traditional look? Do I use a low fire red? Any suggestions as to
appropriate slip? How about application? Warnings? Pitfalls?
Thanks,
Centa
