The hump mold your are refering to is probably the "Pure and
Simple" plastic molds-for making plaster forms-.. This system is like
half of a jiggering rig. You make the inside shape of the plate, cast it
in plaster, them this is centered on the wheel, using another form from
P&S. You now have a spinning mold on your wheel you can jigger, using
your hand instead of a jigger arm, push the clay over the mold, the
inside shape of the plate is defined by the mold, your throw the foot on
the top (this is the bottom of the plate...Hope this makes sense, it is
a cheap kinda half way to jiggering, I think Axner sells these or you
can see ads in CM

AS far as the grinder goes, call creative industries at

I am on my third wheel, the rubber edges tend to get burned away over
time, I probably use about 5 dozen belts before I wreck the drum, but
they are cheap in what they do.
