miami cork raku burner

Hello all,

A couple years ago, I purchased a raku kiln system from Miami Cork. It is
my understanding that they are no longer in business (yes?).

I would like to get an additional burner set up like the one from their
catalog, which consists of:

85,000 BTU Venturi Burner
10' Hose
Ball Valve
Pressure Guage
Regulator

Is this something readily available? Did some company take on Miami Cork's
stock? Being mechanically challenged, I'd prefer something "already
assembled", but can take parts and consult a more technical friend, if need be!

Thanks for your help.

I have just received a raku kiln from Ward Burner System comp. I suggest that
you call Marc Ward @ 423/397-2914, (his fax #: 423/397-1253 & internet:
wardburner@aol.com) as his company carries many power burners that are ready
to use. He is located in Dandridge, TN and is a very pleasant person to deal
with. Good luck! Billy in Lexington KY where the beautiful weather has returne
d and will hopefully stay for a while.

miami cork is no longer in business...however, miami clay company still
carries the raku system and parts...call and ask for bobby or janet or ken
at 305-651-4695 or look in a CM for the 800 line, which i do not happen to
have on hand...

good luck ! ( i am STILL using my steve goldberg raku kiln, going on its
10th year and consistantly producing beauties!

Candice, I replaced the burner on my raku kiln, also from Miami Cork,
which was manufactured by a company called Fisher Controls in McKinney
Texas. The manufacturers name should be on the product. If you want me
to examine the parts for further information just let me know.>

Candice,

We sell a complete Raku system very similar to Miami Cork's. We also have 5
additional models that vary in number and type of burners. We also sell hose
"gangs" to hook up multiple tanks.
One thing you should be aware of was that Miami Corks burner was not 85,000
BTU's. It was a GACO MR750 with a factory installed orifice (#38) that was
designed for low pressure (11"wc) and a output of 75,000 BTU's at that lower
pressure. He then used a Fisher 67 high pressure adjustable regulator that
was adjustable from 0-30 PSI. Obviously, if you have an adjustable regulator,
you have adjustable BTU output, not the set output he advertised. Many folks
that sell these types of systems just buy parts and assemble them without
making or understanding the proper modifications. Harry Dedell in VT is the
only other dealer that I know of that understands all the variables involved.
Give Harry a call or feel free to call me to get a catalog and discuss any
questions you might have.....
