Hello Clayart friends:
At an estate auction, I purchased a very large wheel thrown pot that appears
to be pit fired and decorated with bands of iron oxide engobes. It is signed
"VALK" in black ink on the bottom. I've asked my instructors at the museum
where I'm taking pottery classes, and they don't know who made the piece. I'd
love to find out who made it. I found in one of my old American Craft magazines
(Ap/May 1984), an ad for an exhibit at the Sheila Nussbaum Gallery in Millburn
NJ called emerging young talent that featured Lance Balderson, Jan Eckardt
Butler , Sonya Wowk & Nancy Valk. Does anyone know if my piece was made by
Nancy Valk? Any help you can provide is appreciated! Sincerely,
