A few years ago when I was just developing an interest in clay, I ran
accross a book titled (I think) "Potters of N.Y." published by a
university. It listed a pottery in the early 1800s in eastern N.Y. under
the name of Ostrander/Nichols or possibly the other way around. I would
be very interested in knowing the exact name of the book which in my old
age I can't remember where I saw same. Would also be interested in the
pottery which may have been a distant relative. Am also interested in any
data on the "White Pottery" in western N.Y. Have seen a number of salt
jugs/crocks stamped from Rochester, and small towns south of Rochester
such as Mt.Morris. Any information would be greatly appreciated, and I
thank in advance all who respond to this thread.
