nceca idea

i think we should start persuing a room (hospitality) for clayart
at nceca....i will start the process with the hotel if i can get
some sort of encouragement from the group...
what do you think....?

i believe it could be open all the time for people to gather and meet
each other......it does not need food or drink...well maybe a beer
or a soda. we could have a simple reception there on several
occasions..........................not over 500 people.....
perhaps the mayor of fort worth, or maybe mr. worth.
well, just an idea..... might cost us 5 bucks a piece.....
make some mugs....................nice ones.

Absolutely great idea. $5 is very affordable and I would love to meet
some of the people who I have been reading for so long.

Go for it, mel. Coun't me in. Forget the mayor of Ft. Worth, go for
the Governor! Invite Ted Turner. Mugs would be nice. Don't think it
would compete with the NCECA cup sale. Do you? Perhaps t-shirts in
the future. Does Marshall have any more in stock?

At the Alabama Clay Conference this year, they had a mug swap which worked
well. Everyone that wanted to participate brought a mug and dropped in
their name or card. That evening, the participants pulled numbers from a
hat and picked up a mug. My pick turned out to be a nice mug made by a
young woman from Mississippi with a really nice green glaze!!

that's a Great Idea to use with the clayart folks at NCECA '98 ;
drop off your mug at the 1st reception 3/25 and pick up your assigned mug
at 2nd reception 3/27. what do you think ?

i have been talking to the events director of
the marriott...and we are coming to a place that
may be interesting to clayarters attending nceca.

she claims to have display areas in the lobby, that would
be nice to contain pots...AS IN POTS.
i think we may be able to fill those display areas.
hmmmm, what do you think?
kind of nice....

That sounds like a wonderful opportunity Mel. You mentioned before that we =
=3D
will host a show. Will that take the show out to these display areas or wha=
=3D
t do you have in mind?=3D20

Also, I do not know if you are updated with the porcelain chat that we plan=
=3D
to have. =3DC2=3DA0I took the liberty to invite porcelain artists to show =
and =3D
inform us about their work, assuming that, like previous years, clayarters =
=3D
will bring and show their works.=3D20
