Being close (by Western standards) I have taken my students to several
Alberta symposia. They are smaller like 300 or so, but very informative
and the same kind people as at NCECA. The costs are less IMO but quality
is there.
Many years ago the main speakers were Patti Warashina and Gerry
Williams. The Alberta Potters' Assoc. also sponsered a breakfast
and we were allowed to keep the mugs!
Since we have changed to semesters we are no longer in session when the
conference takes place. Some of the students did go anyway.
