Clayarters,

I have a friend who does sculpture and she can't stand glazes on her work. =
She
wants to know if anyone out there has slip recipies that give a stone, or =
rock
like appearance. Or some very special unusual textured slips. She works at=
all
temperatures, atmospheres, and states of clay so just about any recipie will=
do.
(though she seems to have an affinity for the barium and manganese =
=22sigh=22).

Can anyone help her?
Rebecca,
where, yes, it is STILL raining=21

Clay on sat 22 feb 97

I was using some local hobbies cheap earthernware casting slip as a
medium/engobe to whole my stain. It wasn't too smooth for brushing it on the
wheel. My friend suggest me to put some dish washer fluid in to the
slip(whatever you like to call.)
Good thing about casting slip is they have minnie minie shrinkage & they
hold on to the body really tight .I been doing cone 6 & don't have a problem
of melting or running.
