Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that I've finally gotten my web page up and
running at http://home.sprynet.com/sprynet/rsieck/ I hope you'll all
check it out and let me know what you think...

If anyone has a ceramics related site they would like to link to my
site, send me your url in an email and I'll check it out. The page is
not yet complete - I would like to have more information to help educate
the public and especially customers about the process of making pots -
any suggestions, contributions or ideas are welcome.

Thanks,

Rusty

P.S. Please send comments and suggestions via private
email-thanks-(address is below)

Hi All,

I put my web site up on the server yesterday. It's not perfect yet, but
then, neither am I.

I invite you to take a look at http://www.zianet.com/DarrolS at some
thoughtfully handbuilt, inlaid, stained and burnished vessels and
sculptures as well as my landscape paintings.

Your comments and reflections are welcome.

Enjoy

Our new web site is up at running at:

http://www.sni.net/ceramicdesign/

Please check it out!

I need to thank Robert Carlson of Primus Studios (a fabulous potter and
objectmaker in his own right) and of Design Basics for his absolutely
stellar job of page design and authoring. I'd sugest that anyone wanting
some great work and attention to detail to contact Robert either through
his link on my page of contact me off the list.

Hi Judy,
Wow!

Your forms are so clean. I especially like the tall form (the left picture)
in the picture "large and small vessels." Are your vessels like that thrown
in sections or from one lump? Either way, it's quite striking. I can tell
the surface is well done, even with what the computer does to pictures. I
notice the extra little bump in the curve from the shoulder to the neck;
real subtle. Does the trick.

As it happens, I lived in Somerville about two years ago, (on Warner
Street) near enough to Tufts to hear the field noises anytime there was
some event. I still live in the city, in case you'd wouldn't mind showing a
complete stranger your studio. It would be nice to see how urban studios
manage with limited space....

If you like, have a look at my own page. Not much thrown work is pictured
there because there aren't pictures to post! Mostly featured are ceramic
sculptures.

Just wanted to compliment your pictures and the web page.

bye
Marc

Hope you find my site enjoyable. Please let me know what you think!

For all of you clayarters .....there is a new web site that deserves a
peek.....ceramicsculpture.com........this is under construction but currently
has very good quality images of Voulkos, Callas, and Ukazaki's work......
there are other links and services as well......... for those of you who
question the validity of the japanese influence on american ceramics this is
a place to start pondering the mystery further....from Callas to Voulkos
these are some of the gutsiest ( and crustiest) woodfired objects that I have

Dear Clayarters,

We just finished and put up on the Internet the Web Site for the Charlevoix
Waterfront Art Fair. It includes a downloadable print application and
rules. It is a great fair and the second oldest in the state of Michigan.

Uncluttered--images stand out in colors that complement your business/studio
name--text is clear and visually does not compete with images. Clean.
Clear. Good job.

Pottery Making Illustrated has a totally new web site! Come take a look at

If anyone has a link set to the previous site, please test it to make sure
it still works. Since we removed some of the pages, we tried to set up the
links to a message that takes you to our new home page when you click on the

Ayumi,
I have Internet Explorer 5.5 SP 1 and I also have Opera 6.1.
Your site looks the same in both. The pottery page and
lanterns page images are fine (I've not explored the rest
yet,) and once the entire thing loads, the rollover images
work in both, and actually flash up faster in Opera than in
IE. Not all sites work well in Opera, so that's a good
thing! Opera is generally a bit faster on my machine. My
monitor resolution is set to 1024 x 768, if that matters.
Looks good to me.

Hi Ayumi,
I enjoyed your site, I especially like the intro page. I was
originally confused though, I wondered why there were no pottery pages.
Since I had only a partial window open your links did not show. I think
this is one reason most folks put their links on the left hand side. They
will show up even in a partial window. I ended up going back after reading
the comments on your nice pots. THen I knew there must be a link, and
thought to scroll right.
Regards,
Jim Kasper
Whose web page is really quite pitiful so far.

Ayumi,

I really liked your website. I always love those websites where you move the
cursor over an image and it immediately enlarges. I'm not much of a techno
guy, so I don't know if there is a name for it. I use a modem and it is fast
enough for me.

Like the first image that appears, very cool that you explain it too. I did
wonder why there was an extraordinary amount of blank space at the bottom of
the first page though.

YOur photos were very fun. The people in them just standing around were the
best, those and the one of two arms and a cup of coffee were my favorites.

I like your pots, but the images aren't very clear. Maybe you used a low
resolution digital camera? I dunno, but that's one of my few "could work on"
things.

Otherwise, very nice setup. There's a sort of inviting quietness...maybe
cause I don't use computer speakers anymore...to your site that is very
enchanting.

-jeff

Hello Ayumi,
I agree with Jeff, the set up where the curser hits a picture and an
enlargement ensues is very good; much preferable to the click and wait for
another page to come up with the enlargement. I do agree that the photos of
your pots are not quite as clear as they should be.

Your commentary is not too long, not too short and most importantly,
interesting and unpretentious. Well done all around.
Best regards,
Carol

Hi Ayumi,
The fuzziest photographs are those of the white/light coloured pots. In the
first group of 12; the top left, top middle, 2nd row middle, 2nd row right
(very fuzzy), 3rd row the cups, 4th row right. In the second group of 11;
the top left and top right. The rest of the pots which have colour, are
clearer.
Hope this is of help.
Best regards,
Carol

Ayumi,

I have both Netscape 4 and Internet explorer on my Mac. they both look
just fine to me. And I really like the way the thumbnails pop up in the
larger space when the mouse goes over it, don't even have to double
click. I do like instant gratification. Where I had a problem is with
your commentary, the color is good, but the font size would be easier
on my middle aged eyes if it were larger, maybe 14 point or so. about
the size of your captions.

Millie in Md.

your plaster forms are just delicious, they look like marshmallow cream.

The website has a good appearance and easy navigation, but I would offer =
a few suggestions (obviously my opinion only) :-

The link to the image on the "My Story" page is broken, so the image =
does not load;

I feel that the gallery thumbnails could be bigger, on the initial =
gallery page and especially on the sub-pages where they seem to me to be =
too small to get an idea of what the piece is about;

On the links page there is no highlighting when you mouse-over the =
http://www.bcpotters.com/ link the way that the other links highlight (a =
nice effect too!);
The link to http://www.sohndal.com/ is a dead link, I couldn't find =
anything similar to it in Google;

Finally, on the entry page the rollover effects when mousing over the =
various menu options doesn't appear to be functioning quite correctly, =
the only 'button' that changes state is the 'Links' button. On the other =
pages inside the site the rollover effects are consistent and each =
element changes state on mouseover, except for the page you are on at =
the time.

Don't be disheartened by a few 'settling in' bugs though, overall it is =
great, visually appealing and easy to navigate. I especially like the =
in-page navigation within the gallery pages so that it is not necessary =
to go back to the main gallery page.

Thanks for sharing your site with us!

My original posting of this on Sunday must have been thrown out with Joyce's
computer...

I'm pleased to announce the posting of my new web site.

The address: http://www.creativecreekartisans.com

At this point it is an informational site.

You will find glaze recipes for ^10 reduction, ^6 oxidation, ^6 crystalline
and raku. All recipes have been tested and used, most still being used by my
students and myself.

I've had my Powerpoint presentation at "Lattice Structures" converted to a
PDF file so everyone can view it.

I will be adding additional information as time goes by.

The site was built by a former student of mine, Wilda Wynn.
She was in my advanced drawing class many years ago.

We've continued to stay in touch as friends and now as colleagues.

I'm frequently called upon to be the art editor of a college publication,
and Wilda is often asked to design the layout.

If anyone is interested in having a professional web site built or designing
print material, I'll be happy to provide you with her contact information.
She is very conscientious, reliable and reasonably priced

I invite comments, questions and constructive criticism.
If you ask, I might even reveal where the title came from.

Dearest Bonnie,
Two things, First THANK YOU !!!!!!! The Denis Caraty site is TRULY mouth watering!!!!!
Second, you are SOOOOO MEAN!!!! putting that site out so I can see it . I'm trying to save enough to go on the Italy trip with Tony & Shelia & you're not making it easy to cut back on purchases that aren't an absolutely necessary!!! Oh the white on whiite pieces Denis has!!!!! My personal favorite has been white on white ever since I first saw crystaline glazes. I was also totally blown away by all the different crystal formations! Add another site to the my favorites category!!!
Thanks!!!

Hello Bill,

Thank you for passing along a very interesting site! I will be checking
it through more carefully in the early hours.
I am passing along the site of a French crystaline potter I talked to at
a big british clay fest in July... I don`t think I`ve sent it before, but
might have. He had some `white on white` crystalines I certainly would
have liked to buy, but luggage as it is. I did buy a small, lovely beaker,
rose tinted
at the rim, then white on white until close to the bottom where it turns a
quiet sea-green. Lovely crystalining...

Hi Everyone,

Another site with magnificent large crystals is that of Denis Caraty, aka
Smart. Check out: http://ceramique-cristaux.site.voila.fr/

Not only is he an extremely knowledgeable technical person, he has the
widest variety of crystals I've seen anywhere.

In his gallery of vases, you can see his white on white, which are
particularly elegant.

He is French, and his web site can be viewed in either French or English.

Bonnie

Hello Folks,

Just published a web site at =
www.stoneycreekpottery.com. It has =
taken me awhile to get this together since it is my first attempt at =
something like this. I am not a computer person so be kind in your =
constructive criticisms. Check it out and see what you think. I =
welcome suggestions or comments both on the site as well as the work.

Lovely website, Allyson. It all seemed to work well for me, though the
"Profile" headline on the "about the artist" page lapped over some of
the copy, and in a couple of other places the copy didn't seem to want
to stay inside its box. I have a Mac, which might make a difference.
But thought you'd like to know that. And how do I get a barn/workshop
like that?

Hi Allyson,
I think you did an excellent job. The site is easy to use and the
enlargements are great. I don't like it when the enlargement is so
small that I can't see the detail in the work. Your work is beautiful
as well. Mike Gordon

Hello all,

After nearly 10 years on line I decided to totally rebuild our website. O=
=3D
ver the past two=3D20
weeks I did just that and this afternoon I blew away the old bloated site=
=3D
and put up the new=3D20
sleek 2009 version. It will be interesting to watch our performance in Go=

ogle over the next=3D20
few days as I renamed almost all the pages and changed the extensions fro=
=3D
m the old .htm=3D20
form (I had from the days when I built the site with Frontpage back in 20=
