I am an apprentice at the Guilford Handcraft Center here in hazy, hot and
humid Ct..We are planning a field trip to NYC June 18 and would really
appreciate any suggestions as to good gallery shows etc that may be available
to visit on that date. Last month the group went to the American Craft Museum
and saw the Voulkos exhibit which everyone raved about, ( of course I missed
that trip). We are a very mixed group as far as individual focus. Several are
very interested in maijolica, some are into sculptoral ceramics and I tend
more toward functional. At any rate we would love to hear from any clayart
folks with any suggestions.TIA Barbara in Lyme,Ct.

Its likely you'll arrive inbetween shows at the Craft Museum. Voulkos
closing and Breaking Barriers opening soon. You should check out the
Garth Clark Gallery exhibition and drop into Franklin Parrasches new
location on West 57th Street. Parrasch represents Ken Price and Kathy
Butterly, among others, and always has a selection of pieces on hand. I
don't know if his California Funk exhibition will still be there but
there were some choice pieces on display in May.

Good luck...
