My brother will be renting an apartment on the south island during jan.,
feb.
and march. He has graciously invited me to vist, rent free.
If I can get over my fear of flying, (I was once in a plane accident),
and if I can gather the $ for a ticket, could anyone from new zealnd write
me and let me know about any pottery workshops or events being offered
within that time frame I might look into?

I would be grateful for any information on NZ or anyone who is willing to
correspond.

In exchange, I would try to be as helpful as I could about upstate new
york if that interests anyone. Or any other matter I could help on.

Thanks

Hello New Zealand clayarters. A friend, former jeweler, weaver, forger
and a dab of pottery besides, is coming to Auckland from May 28th-June
3rd on e business installation. She is interested in visiting
galleries, Maori holds deep interest and she is knowledgable about them,
but will have little time except Sunday afternoon the 28th, Saturday
morning June 3 and possibly some evenings in between.... Anyone having
information or the names of a few places or a local web site that might
shed some light...would you e mail me off list? Thanks so much...I am
trying to earn a souvinir here....and some Clayarter pottery would be
just wonderful.

I have the opportunity to spend 3 weeks in NZ this Christmas and am looking
for some potters to visit, great galleries, etc. We will be staying just
outside of Aukland, but doing some travelling. Please let me know if you
know of any interesting places to visit.

Jennifer,

Thank you for the name and email address of the potter in Vermont---great
help!

Just for the record, in case anyone else ever has or is considering a
move to that part of the world, it is difficult as there are occupational
and financial considerations that are fairly stringent. In my case I am
married to an Australian citizen and they can move about New Zealand,
purchase property, etc., just as if they were in Australia. Otherwise it
would be very difficult indeed for us to immigrate to that country.

I look forward to contacting Bob Compton. Thanks!

Dana
