You might want to contact Julie Warren, 56 Seymore Ave. Nelson,
New Zealand. Ph 03 548 8602. She is the Director of the New Zealand
Society of Potters, they have a newsletter (Claynews) and will have
listings of the various potters you are seeking. I have been down under
several times visiting potters and giving workshops, and can say you
will find the people and potters warm and friendly.

Nelson is a very pottery orientated area and we have great number of
commercial potters, including some national and internationally known
ones, we also have many hobby potters some of considerable skills

Regarding raku there have been potters in the area who have done quite

a bit of work but I am not sure who still produces raku on a
continuing
basis. I do think that if you should find it possible to visit Nelson
you will be well rewarded in every way, apart from the pottery aspect
Nelson has wonderful scenery, is very craft conscious so all our
visitors tell us.! I admit the North Island has its potters but also
admit to being very parochial, and believe we are known as the pottery
centre of New Zealand.
This address will give you a tour of the Nelson province,
