Dear Eileen,
You will miss Jeff Shapiro's fabulous show at the Dai Ichi Gallery but go
there anyway. It specializes in Japanese pottery. Address is 24 W. 57th St.
6th floor. NYC. On the 3rd. floor, same bldg. is the Garth Clark Gallery
which has the reputation of being THE prestigious craft gallery.
If any of you get to NYC by Oct. 10, don't miss Jeff's show. It is a class
act..he is truly one of the outstanding potters of our time. To quote: "The
new body of work, rooted in the Bizen tradition, highlights Shapiro's love of
landscape and spontaneous risk-taking, elevating his work into an even deeper
meditation of time, age, accident and survival."
I'd also hit the Japan Society..333 E. 47th St.
