Even if you take atomic weights and whatever other sceintific approach to
calculate how much to use of one in place of the other. One has to get hold
of the original manufacturer of the oxides and carbonates and find out what
percentage is in each. Otherwise one is working in the dark. These materials
are manufactured according to certain specifications and not just milled ore.

As a rank amateur I have a couple of questions:
1) If I "glaze" a cup with iron oxide, carbon carbonate or cobale
carbonate and then cover it with a clear glaze, will it be food safe
and 2) if it is food safe, can it be put in the microwave. As I learn
more I won't have to ask such dumb questions.
