I had great success with pouring the liquid clay mix 50:50 onto the
underside of leaves having prominent venation ( for example, tropical
yams/Dioscorea sp.) If you press the leaf into the clay, all sorts of
bubbles appear and ruin the perfect patterns of veins. Rough edges along
the sides of the leaves can be filed. The leaves can be mounted on a
frame or whatever you are working on and with a little vinegar or slip
they stick after having set for a few days. I was able to produce large,
light weight porcelain leaves that fired well in raku.
