I've tried many kinds of paper for paperclay, including shredded computer
paper with ink all over it (banks discard it by the bagful!), and shredded
newsprint. I found no color changes from the inks used on the paper. On
the other hand, I was not using a white clay body. The newsprint did seem
to make a mushier clay body, less elastic perhaps, and a bit harder to
throw. But fine for handbuilding.
