parafin - revisited

For those of you like myself that use straight parafin wax as wax resist, I
have found a terrific *free* source of wax!

At the local esthitician, they use (scented) wax to moisturize hands (you
dip your hands into the warm wax and it coats and soothes dry skin). When
you peel it off, it's thrown away.

I found out about this (like I get these treatments - get real!) and asked
if I might re-cycle the waste. They lined a nice wicker basket with plastic
near the wax heater, and when patrons are finished with the wax they deposit
it into the plastic bag. I pick it up at leisure. Other than the obvious
benefit of being free (my most favourite word) it is peach scented. It
works the same for me as regular wax and smells just as bad burning off in
the firing ;-)

Thought I would pass along this terrific tip. If anyone else has tips to
share, they would be greatly appreciated.
