I haven't been following this, but -
Ahem. Nomadic peoples? Pottery? Does the term "Native
Americans" strike a familiar note? Many made and used pottery
even though they were at least seasonally nomadic. As to
essential tools, fingers and perhaps a stone or bone could get
the job done.

Ah, although seasonally nomadic, they were fixed long enough to establish
infrastructure. More important than the forming tools, which are
admittedly simple, a furnace/kiln, even a rudimentary version, is
technologically speaking sophisticated
