A few years ago, an instructor of mine mentioned that he had seen plaster
mixed with existing glazes to get a snowy effect when fired. The glaze
would have to be mixed with plaster in small, 1 use batches because the
plaster would casue the glaze to solidify very quickly.
I'd like to know if anyone has tried this, and if so, what the results
were like.
If no one else has ever heard of this, I'd like to know that, too.
Thanks,
John

I don't know about plaster, but I have gotten this "snowy" effect at
bisque temperature using a paste of TSP (trisodium phospate) wall
cleaner. It makes textured surfaces look nice and crunchy and almost
like they have been frosted.
