Hi,
Can anyone please tell me where I can find a recipe for making my own
plastiline? I have looked all over the place but can't seem to find
anything.
Thank you very much,
Jeff

Hi Jeff
Plasteline, Plastecine, and Plastilina are modeling media9s which use nondrying
oils such as lanolin, mineral oil, glycerin, instead of water to make the clay
plastic. Non toxic oxides and or burnt sienna can be added to change or enhance
the hue or croma of the mixture.
Here are two recipes
Oil Base Clay #1
Kaolin 54 parts
Sulphur 24 parts
Lithopone 20 parts
Dry mix these materials, add the following materials until the desired plasticit
attained.
Lanolin 60 %
Glycerin 40%
Oil Base Clay #2
Ball clay
Lanolin
Glycerin
Mix to achieve the plasticity desired.
Have a nice day,
Erich
