I have just been told by our University bookstore that the book Pottery
Form by Daniel Rhodes is out of print. I have lost the email address for
Steve Branfman's book shop, Steve and any others out there who might have
copies -- please reply.

At NCECA this spring I asked about this and other books that I am
interested in that are out of print. I believe it was the Chilton reps
said that they were looking into republishing some of these books like
textbooks. I assumed that they ment smaller quanties for a much higher
price. Someone may want to contact them to see what the status is. I
located a flyer I picked up from them and this book was listed on the books
they had 16 copies for 31.95. Their Number is 800-695-1214 or
215-964-4000. I hope you get what you are looking for.

Clayarters, clearly computer literate, may wish to explore the new
electronic book format, PDF (portable document format), that Adobe has
developed for cross-platform usage. There has been a growing swell of
documents now available in PDF. I have an FAQ on hand; if anyone wants a
copy (18K) I will glad email it to her/him.
It may well be that Chilton, others, will reissue Rhodes's classic
works in PDF format for down-loading from an FTP site and the cost will
be perhaps one-third to one-half of a paper book. To see an example of
this go to the "digitalfire" site below and see the Magic of Fire II
volume in PDF. It is available at low cost.
The usual disclaimer: I have no vested interest in the IMC
website other than endorsing Tony Hansen's efforts to make potters more
aware of glaze design via computer, etc. And also the fact that Tony is
pioneering in many ways and so deserves my support.
