As the director of a local arts agency, I would like to alert everyone to the
potential elimination of NEA. Not necessarily, the best gov't agency on
record I would agree. But the issue is much larger. If the federal gov't
opts to eliminate funding for the arts, what is to stop local schools and
universities from doing the same? The federal gov't is setting the example!
This "disinvestment" in the arts is not a good sign and the implications are
overwhelming... Where would it stop? Cricket in Lafayette Where hopefully
the sun will shine this weekend!
