My first pug mill table was a sturdy one, 4" x 4" legs with 2" x 4" skirts.
The surface was a fine piece of heavy duty formica covered particle board.
My current pugmill table is made from slotted steel with a shelf
underneath. The top is a piece of 3/4" plywood cover with a 1/4" piece of
UHMW. The height of the table is 1/4" below the bottom of the pug nozzle.
I keep a spray bottle handy at the pug. The top is lightly misted and the
pug just slides along on the wet surface.
Hope this helps.
