pure & simple bat molds

Pelly...(not sure that's your proper name...got it from your e-mail address)
Can't say what the white skin is on your bats. May be a build-up of
salts/alkali in the bats which, because of their higher density, might not
dry out well enough between uses. I'm curious about your using Hydrocal.
Don't you find them too dense? Do they release the pots as well as the bats
made with regular potters plaster?

We have used these mold for years both for throwing and jiggering. They =
work well for standard forms as well as a mold for incised plates etc. =
The only difficulty is getting the head attachment centered and then =
when your wheel finally gives out trying to do it all over again on your =
next wheel head.
