Too many individual inquiries about the CGHUC for lining kiln interiors,
so for general information here is the what I can tell you. Ceramic Grade
Heat Unity Coating is a silicon based liquid slurry that mixes with
water. It can be brushed, sprayed or rolled on the hot face of insulating
brick. It has an emissivity of .92 at 2000 degrees compared to IFB which
ranges from .2 to .5. Emissivity is the ability to absorb and radiate
heat energy. Applying CGHUC will greatly improve the firing uniformity.
It will reduce fuel consumption by at least 25%. For example, I measured
a decrease from 36 gallons of LPG to 19! Average was around 24. This was
a 60 cubic foot MFT fired to cone 10 in reduction.
The CGHUC is manufactured and sold by Mica Industries in Marlette, Mich.
phone is 517-635-2139. Ask for Mike Kellie. I have no financial interest
or connection with them. This is just a good product and he is the
source. The product comes in five gallon buckets wt about 40 #, cost $105
plus shipping UPS, I presume. You can also order one gallon pail, cost
$26 plus shipping. The five gallon bucket will cover 50 Square feet with
recommended multiple coats. If you order, make sure you get directions
and follow them. Nils Lou
