Ralph: Please excuse me if I tell you I do not like your use of MnO2 in
this fashion, albeit on a raku pot that hopefully will never see food. But
the MnO2 will NOT bond to the pot, will likely not go into the pores
muchly. And the dusting off of MnO2 particles represents an unneeded
hazard.
I suggest you use salad oil instead when the pot is still quite
hot; this will carbonize the cracks and be permanent.
