Kathy Whipple has been saving to buy a Randall wheel and is shaken by all
the endorsements for the Soldner.
I have no opinions to further confuse you, but if you still intend to follow
you original heart's desire, check a recent Ceramics Monthly for a Randall
Pottery ad and phone to make sure they will still be available.
A yr. ago, when I phoned to get the price of a drive wheel for my ancient
Randall w/ home-made motor, I was startled to have the business phone
answered by Ted's widow, Cate, who seemed to be handling the business.
Then, at NCECA, I learned as one does about these things that Cate was in a
retirement home in Rochester, ill and not doing well. Maybe someone else is
running the business. This may help steer you into the Soldner, but that is
