re : glass+metal+clay correction

Deb,

I realised this morning (during my walk) that the information I offered you
with regard to fusing glass was not entirely correct so I will attempt to
clarify that information.

Speciality glass is used when fusing different coloured glasses (for
platters etc.) and when doing this I use Bullseye tested compatible glass
which tells me that they have the same coefficient of expansion and will
form a craze-free fusion (desirable for platters). On the other hand I
also use float glass and fuse several layers together without problems but
I never mix the two.

So I follow the rule of fusing glass from the same source, Bullseye to
Bullseye, float to float and bottle to bottle.

Naturally there are always variables (and believe me I've experienced most
of them) and temperature will be an important factor but it is best to fuse
from the same source.

I hope this helps

regards

Marcie
